PWR CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDED FRIDAY NIGHT WITH EVENT CHAMPIONS AND GOAT TYING WORLD CHAMPION CROWNED

PWR Championship to Return to Fort Worth in 2027

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 17, 2026) – The 2026 PWR (Premier Women’s Rodeo) Championship concluded Friday night in Cowtown Coliseum, crowning seven discipline champions and bringing an unforgettable week of competition to a thrilling close.

PWR also announced that its annual Championship event will be returning to Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, May 13-16. The season-ending event will be tied to Scripps Sports’ original series PWR: Road to the Championship on Grit, which will debut in 2027, offering all-inclusive coverage of the PWR season’s most compelling storylines and competitions.

The on-sale date for tickets for the four-day event will be announced at a future date.

In Fort Worth, Kappie Bryant (Stephenville, Texas) dominated the Barrel Racing competition all week, entering the Championship Round as the favorite with an aggregate time of 29.592 seconds. She clinched the win with a time of 13.062 seconds to win the bonus of $60,000 and a weeklong total of $68,500.

The next winning pair in Team Roping was Kenna Francis (Las Vegas, N.M.) and Whitney DeSalvo (Wilmar, Ark.) with a time of 6.15 seconds to claim the round by over a full second. In addition to becoming PWR Championship winners, each of the ladies took home a $60,000 check as the Team Roping Heading Event Champion and Team Roping Event Heeling Champion. It marks the second year the duo have won the event with the prior in the 2024 Women’s Rodeo World Championship

Mayce Marek (Arp, Texas) topped the field in Goat Tying with an aggregate time of 18.95 seconds across three rounds to win $2,720. Marek further was crowned 2026 Goat Tying World Champion with a total of 7,912 points on the season.

Rylee George (Oakdale, Calif.) took the title of Breakaway Roping event champion with a time of 1.93 seconds, cashing in on the $60,000 prize. She earned a weeklong prize of $62,607.14 during the PWR Championship.

Carly Richardson (Honey Grove, Texas) won the Ranch Bronc Riding as one of two riders to ride both broncs they attempted for an aggregate score of 173.40 points. She bested Momma Tried in the final round for 85.40 points. Three riders covered a bronc in the final round.

Mady Eilert (Locust Grove, Okla.) knocked down a 93.40-point ride aboard Lion Heart to take home the bull riding title.  

Throughout the history of the PWR (formerly WRWC), the league has paid out $5.25 million in prize money in seven years.
